I seem to have missed recording most of the details here, so here is what I've got. I brewed this once before using Marris-Otter as the base malt and debittered black malt due to grain availability at the time. It was ok, but not anything to get excited about. This time I used Golden Promise as the base and ~500L roasted barley. I definitely prefer this. I'm not excited about it, but I'll keep drinking it and sometimes I come around to a beer. If not, I've got friends who I am sure will love it.

The beer is actually somewhat lighter than the picture below, but lighting in my kitchen is a bit dark.

As noted on The Rye or the Kaiser (2022-08-07) this batch is being split up. I brew 5 gallons (really 5.5, to leave some extra for mistakes, gravity checks, etc) and then only put 2.5 gallons on tap at a time. I do not currently have this website set up to account for that. I emptied the first 2.5 gallons of this beer over the weekend of 2022-09-03. The tap was left empty to allow for room for 2.5 gallons ofThe Rye or the Kaiser (2022-08-07) to get cold and properly carbonate for a friend's party. The second 2 or so gallons of that is on tap as of 2022-09-11. The last 2.5 gallons of this beer will go on tap whenever the next spot in the kegerator opens up.
