This is a St. Bernardus Prior 8 clone from the book Clone Brews.

The name is for a friend of mine, Tim Journey. He lived across the street from me and was 30+ years older than me. We bonded over a love of beer. I would see him in his yard and walk over for a quick chat and end up in his house for an hour or two, drinking a couple beers, and hearing stories about beer and his time in the Peace Corp. Sometimes when my garage door was open because I was brewing, but inside, I'd come out to check on my beer and find bottles for me to use, a newspaper or magazine article about brewing, and even a Pauwel Kwak glass (some day I will just get a pic rather than linking to Amazon).

He had been battling cancer for the last few years. I saw him less and less, but we still talked when we could and he still had at least one beer each day as his doctor allowed.

I learned of his death while I was brewing this beer and so I have named my version of it after him. I will continue to improve upon it and get it "just right".
