You would think I'd be better at this by now. All of my volumes were correct. My pre-boil gravity was correct. Yet my original gravity was very, very low. It is a bigger grain bill which I am still figuring out how to fix my efficiency on. So my guess is that even though I had stirred my candi syrup into the wort for several minutes, I had not stirred well enough and it was much thicker at the top where I scooped the wort from into a smaller measuring cup to cool.
